A metaphor I would use to describe my mind is a rollercoaster. I'm always thinking about different things. The same way a rollercoaster makes so many different turns and twists, I feel like that's how my mind is; my thoughts are always pretty scattered. Today in class, we read 2 Emily Dickinson poems and analyzed them. We were able to dive deep into the meaning of poems. One poem had a darker theme, while the other poem was a little lighter. I'm excited to read more of Emily Dickinson's work. There is so much depth to her poems, and it's cool to try to analyze and decode all the different meanings.
My most absurd personal experience was one time, it was after school, when my friend and I decided to go to church that evening. Also, around this time, I had a strange addiction to eating cornstarch. I just liked the texture, and I liked the taste. Anyway, I had my friend taste it, and her parents came to pick us up to take us to church, and we weren't ready, so we rushed to get out the door, leaving the box of corn starch open. We went to church and enjoyed the service. After the service, there was an ice cream truck outside, so we decided to get some. As we waited for her parents to pick us up, a young man approached me offering a prayer. I accepted, and these 2 people started praying for me and my friend. At first, things were normal, but they started to get weird. Before I knew it, 5 people were all gathered around me, praying for me, speaking in tongues. I didn't know what to do. It was crazy.
