A time I felt connected to nature was when I went kayaking on the river. It was so peaceful and quiet. As I was floating along the river, I was able to see all the leaves and branches floating in the water. There was also wildlife like birds and turtles. Today, I learned some of the characteristics of Native American myths as well as new vocabulary. We learned about the first Americans and reviewed native american facts and myths, different forms of native american literature, different legends and myths amongst that culture, and different archetypes.
My most absurd personal experience was one time, it was after school, when my friend and I decided to go to church that evening. Also, around this time, I had a strange addiction to eating cornstarch. I just liked the texture, and I liked the taste. Anyway, I had my friend taste it, and her parents came to pick us up to take us to church, and we weren't ready, so we rushed to get out the door, leaving the box of corn starch open. We went to church and enjoyed the service. After the service, there was an ice cream truck outside, so we decided to get some. As we waited for her parents to pick us up, a young man approached me offering a prayer. I accepted, and these 2 people started praying for me and my friend. At first, things were normal, but they started to get weird. Before I knew it, 5 people were all gathered around me, praying for me, speaking in tongues. I didn't know what to do. It was crazy.
