Over the holiday break, I took some time to rest, relax, and spend time with family. I also went to work and started planning my goals for 2026. The first goal I have this year is to increase my SAT score by 300 or more points. This goal is important to me because a high SAT score will help me stand out on college applications and potentially help me earn scholarships. I will achieve this goal by taking a significant amount of time to study. I want to dedicate about 2 hours each day to SAT prep. Then on the weekends I will take a practice exam. If I keep up my study plan, by March, I will have increased my SAT score by 300 points.

The second goal I have is to earn my driver's licence. This goal is important to me because I want to get around easier to my jobs and school. I will achieve this goal by doing 30 minutes of the Joshua's Law course each day and driving with my parents on the weekend. By my birthday in May, I will have my driver's license.

My third goal is to take on more volunteer opportunities. This goal is important to me because I want to help my community and give back to others. The steps I will take to achieve this goal are applying for volunteer internships, particularly at the children's hospital, and other volunteer opportunities such as helping at food banks and preparing meals for the homeless. I will dedicate a certain number of hours each month to volunteering. I hope to gain 100+ volunteer hours by the end of the summer.

My fourth goal is to pick up a new hobby. This goal is important to me because I decided not to do track this year, so I want to find something else to do. The steps I will take to achieve it are trying out different hobbies and maybe revisiting some of my old ones. I hope to find a new hobby by the end of the school year.

A real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship I experienced is one time I asked my friend to go to the boardwalk with me, and she told me she couldn't go. The next day, I saw that she had gone without me with another friend. I'm not going to lie, I did feel a little jealous, but in the end, it was a misunderstanding. She had already had plans to go with someone else and couldn't go with me that day. Today, I learned about a folklore story "The Jealous Father" when a man suspected his son was having a affair with one of his wives due to marks on her body and tried to get rid of him but in the end the son never had an affair and the father tried to get rid of his son over a false lie.  Today, we started a project. My group is responsible for the moral aspect of the story.

A time I felt completely lost was when I moved back to Georgia from Texas. Although I was born in Georgia, I lived in Texas for the majority of my life. I had made friends that I love and so many memories. So when I moved back to Georgia, I was pretty lost. I moved to a more metro part of Atlanta, while during my childhood I lived in the suburbs. I still kept in touch with my childhood friends, but I didn't live very close to them. It was different, but I adapted quickly. The hard part for me was honestly missing my friends and seeing them all together, knowing I couldn't be there anymore. It was sad at first, but I realized that I could make new memories just like I had made memories with my friends before. Today in class, we presented our jealous father PowerPoint. I learned different aspects of the jealous father story and was able to gain a deeper look at the characters' actions, the morals of the story, and the themes.

As I grow up, an issue/ topic I think I will have to debate in the future is the state of society. Today in America, I think that we are very divided, specifically in politics. I wish we could all come together and agree, but the reality is that it will never happen. Therefore, I will have to stand up for what I personally believe in and what I think is right, instead of conforming to a corrupt political party. Today in class, we learned about the different types of claims.
